A Large Retirement Sale for Dad and Beyond Transition

Pete Diny was going into retirement and leaving the task of running the 40-year-old Diny’s Jewelers to the second generation—Nick Diny and Sara Diny Alexander. Charles Frey Company, Inc. successfully staged its retirement sales and helped in the business transition event. Nick and Sara talk about how they got a lot of sales and revenue!

In 1983, Pete and Beverly Diny started Diny’s Jewelers in a small farming community on Main Street in Darlington, WI. The couple opened a second location on Main Street in Stoughton, WI. in 1985.

In 1999, they closed the Stoughton store to focus on their new location at the Hilldale Shopping Center on Midvale Boulevard in Madison, WI. They moved the store one more time to 1903 Cayuga Street, 105 Middleton, WI 53562-5405, and have been there for the past 20 years before Pete’s retirement and in transitioning the business to Nick and Sara.

Going with the Flow

Pete spoke with several companies that could help with a business transition and retirement sales before turning over the jewelry store to the second generation. Pete liked Chuck Frey of Charles Frey and Company, Inc.’s plans and instantly decided to work with him.

Chuck discussed low, medium, and high expectations for the event. But, because of his expertise, they hit the high and were almost on their way to an ultra-high, as Nick described the results of the retirement sales and business transition. This was way above the average they were expecting.

The business transition was supposedly a long-term plan to commence after the retirement sales. But all their plans changed when Charles Frey and Company came into the picture. The Dinys just went with the flow and achieved the best results!

The Charles Frey and Company Difference

Charles Frey and Company, Inc., is a veteran in the jewelry industry. Its founder, Chuck Frey, was a diamond grader and instructor for the Gemological Institute of America in the late 1970s. He then transitioned to being a sales event planner and became the national sales manager for Silverman Jewelers Consultants. The company has over 60 years of experience liquidating retail jewelry stores.

Chuck established Charles Frey & Company over 30 years ago and has since developed exemplary credibility in the industry for his innovative ideas. He is also known for delivering his promises of a successful sales event. Chuck plans and conducts different cash-raising events throughout the United States, especially retirement sales and business transition sales to the next generation.

Along with Chuck, Charles Frey, and Company has professionals with decades of expertise in showroom Floor selling, retail pricing, merchandising, advertising, sales-event planning, promotion, and execution.

The task for Diny’s Jewelers was to implement a business transition and retirement sales. Nick and Sara wanted a business transition and a big retirement sales event for their dad, which, with Chuck’s passion and dedication, was very successful.

The main objective of the big retirement sales event for their dad was to move as much of the inventory as possible, be profitable, and maintain the jewelry store’s good reputation. Chuck and his team listened to what Diny’s Jewelers wanted to achieve and customize the perfect plan based on their needs.

The sales event brought in a lot of sales, huge revenues, and many happy people. While Diny’s Jewelers was able to sell many of their jewelry pieces, many customers were inquiring about their custom jewelry, special orders, and repair services. Nick and Sara were enthralled by the customers asking whether they were permanently closing Diny’s.

The Dinys have nothing but high praises for Chuck, Shelly, and the rest of the Charles Frey and Company team. Since Dany’s Jewelers was not closing shop due to Pete’s retirement, the biggest concern was how customers are going to perceive and accept the second generation owners.

Chuck and his team were very hands-on throughout the retirement sales and business transition. They visited the store and even assisted during the sale. They monitored inventory, kept track of the sales, and communicated with the Diny family every aspect of the sale.

Charles Frey and Company succeeded in generating high revenues from retirement sales. Regarding the business transition, the advertising campaign created for the retirement sales was carried over until after the sales event.

Diny’s Jewelers’ retirement sales ended in February. Nick and Sara took over the jewelry store in May. Sales haven’t slowed down since the end of the sales event. Nick and Sara admit that Chuck’s brilliant advertising campaign still brings in people.

Nick and Sara could never stop talking about how Chuck communicated the message of the retirement sales, which resulted in huge sales and revenues. They repeatedly mentioned “communication, communication, communicationas they ended their testimonial video.

The name Diny’s Jewelers was screaming everywhere, on TV, radio, and in newspapers to promote the retirement sales event. There were customers coming in from as far as Iowa, which is over 100 miles away. It’s no surprise that Diny’s Jewelers continues to reap the success of the retirement sales and business transition. That’s the Chuck Frey magic, which sets Charles Frey and Company apart from the competition. Pete, Nick, and Sara couldn’t agree more!

Final Thoughts

Pete would retire and leave Diney’s Jewelers to his children, Nick and Sara. The children wanted a big retirement sales event for their father, and Pete wanted a flawless business transition to his children.

Charles Frey and Company mounted a successful retirement sales event that generated huge sales and revenues. Chuck Frey and his team of experts took the burden off Diny’s shoulders so Pete could enjoy his retirement. As a business transition sales advisor, Charles Frey ensured the sale went smoothly, and the objectives were met.
